PATIENT
The first general principle we find in the Barcelona Medical Association (Col·legi Oficial de Metges de Barcelona) Code of Deontology is as follows:
“The doctor must bear in mind that the objective of practising medicine is to promote, maintain or restore individual and collective health, and he/she must consider that health is not merely the absence of disease but also a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being so that the person can function autonomously. The doctor must also relieve pain and suffering caused by the disease and take care of those who cannot be cured.”
This may seem like a simple declaration of intent but it forms part of the DNA of our organisation. Here our patients are not only billable commodities; through the attention and care we offer, we hope to establish a long-term relationship of trust.
Our patient care protocols are based on the highest possible standards of quality and protocol indicators are reviewed periodically in order to be able to guarantee both compliance with these standards and the incorporation of improvements.
