Would myopic surgery with an intraocular lens cure my myopia?
No, laser does not cure myopia as this is a disorder affecting the whole eye. Pathological myopia involves: a change in eyeball size and thinning of its layers. Laser surgery changes the shape of the cornea, by cutting it like a diamond, to improve the focus of the optical system. It has no effect on structural changes of the myopic eye and their consequences for eye health. In your case of 14 diopters we would use intraocular lenses. These lenses focus the image from inside the eye but neither improve the anatomical conditions nor the pathological risks of high myopia.
